Wrap the day into the deal log

Lesson 4 of 5 · The deal week

By the end you can turn a day of calls, redlines and emails into one log entry per deal: what moved, what was decided, what changed, and what is open with an owner.

1 · Learn the move · Recipe pattern

A deal's real record is scattered across a call log, a redline, three email threads and what you remember on the drive home. A ten-minute wrap-up fixes that if the shape never changes. DONE: what moved today, with the deal name and the counterparty on every line. DECIDED: what was decided, by whom, in one line each. CHANGED: any term, date or figure that moved, written as old value, new value, reason, never buried in prose. OPEN: what is unfinished, each with an owner and a date. The model sorts your scraps into that shape and stops. It does not tidy a figure it cannot see, and it does not turn 'the lender sounded hesitant' into a conclusion. Anything missing becomes [NEEDS: ...] so you see the hole before the log closes.

Turn my notes from today into deal-log entries, one per deal: [paste call notes, redline comments, emails]. Sections for each: DONE / DECIDED (what, who, when) / CHANGED (old value, new value, reason) / OPEN (item, owner, date). Use only what is in my notes. Any missing figure, name or date = [NEEDS: ...]. Do not interpret anyone's tone; 'sounded hesitant' stays as I wrote it.

2 · Your turn. You write the prompt

It is 7 pm. Today the Elm Plaza seller countered the LOI at a higher price and a shorter diligence period, the lender on Harbor Point asked for a DSCR of 1.30 instead of 1.25, the estoppel on the anchor tenant came back with a different expiration than the rent roll, and an investor emailed that she 'may want to come in bigger'. Your notes are two redlines, four emails and a voicemail.

Write the prompt for this scenario as given, or swap in a real one from your own work. The score works the same either way.

Remember: the AI sees only your prompt, not this page. If the situation isn't in your prompt, it doesn't exist.

Optional. These shape the output when you run your prompt below, not your score.
